You haunt me with Your unceasing love
I twist & turn in its grip
Waiting for Your cold fire to ignite my soul
Like an angel’s glowing heart
Your wings protect me from all harm,
Most of all my own, as I forget that
When You look at me, You see Him.
I want to see Him too.
How can You love me so,
When I fly away on half a whim,
Terrified of Your touch yet knowing
That without it I die.
You put your mouth to my ear,
Whispered sweet words of comfort, of home.
Talked to me of Your Son, the Son You see in me.
I think I almost see Him now.
